I live right next to the sea and want to sport in force. It is a 2-day course that could be done, but I'm not really necessary. I also have a question about the type of kayaks (sit up or sit inside). What advice can you? Give THANK YOU!

Where do you live? If you live somewhere, as for example in the vicinity of San Francisco Bay, where tidal currents create enormous, and there are waves, it is probably a good idea to take a lesson .. If you live in a place where the sea is relatively calm, I would not worry about ...
ReplyDeleteHere is the course of two days, which should include:
Anatomy of boats, types, construction, etc..
Navigation and orientation on the water (with a compass, the cross-flow, tides, waves, plan your trip with the flow, etc.)
The Strokes.
Rescue comrades and save.
Here, too little guidance is the only thing that is really critical, if the currents and waves are traitors. So think about where you live, and decide.
As for sit-on-top sea kayak, compared to a regular ...
Sit-on-top:
Strengths: much more stable and less likely to change. Easy to use immediately. If you turn around, do not fill the boat with water when it has once again turn right and straight up the (still some PracticE open water.) Overall, these boats are very durable and can be topped this book. The waves are good waves and lots of fun. If you go this route, Ocean Kayak is the best brand in my opinion (cool design)
Weaknesses: Not as fast as a sit-in over a squirrel sitting inside (the least efficient in general.) They are more exposed to wind and cold. Sometimes the water is wet from the drainage holes and get your ass. No tax (if in fact you only need a rudder too long on one side of the sea kayaking go ... the latest) can be wheel for most of the time you roll a sit on top. Not so cool as to stay indoors, sea kayaking with more experience going into the second.
Sitting in
Strengths: Very efficient, cutting the water in a straight line. Her legs and (if there in a skirt and top dry weight combined) of the body to remain completely dry and warm. There are compartments for dry storage of camping equipment. Most have rudders, be useful to navigate in strong current. With practice, you can run to turn a potentialCIAL swimming wet head immersed in a basket.
Cons: much less stable than Sit on top ... If you go into a stormy sea as a beginner, you can return. (not much, just learn to roll) If you swim, the boat fills with water and self-rescue (rescue or friends) is much harder to sit with a top, although not really that difficult. While the necessary equipment (spray skirt, bilge pump, paddle float (for after bathing,)) and so on. As a rule, good kayaking in almost double the price of a used sit up.
In any case, I hope that helps. At the outset I would like to paddle only in the vicinity of the coast (but above the crashing waves), so that you can not lose ... Ask yourself: "If I swim along the coast from here, he would agree with that?"
One more thing ... At some point, if you have a seat in a kayak, your own rescue and find Buddy to ... You do not need a course of two days for this ... About 15 minutes .. but it is a precise technology .. Diagrams so see you online .. or many stores savior "kayak" wITH some useful art, and a chart of the technical rescue. Practice this in shallow water for an afternoon and his confidence will grow if you have a good life, you will feel you can handle any situation ..
Ugh!
I suggest you go through the course of 2 days to be aware of the dangers and excitement of sea kayaking Do not risk your life to do it myself. It is also better to have a friend accompany you when you go to the sea.
