How long do you normally stay in the hospital after you have breast cancer surgery? - breast cancer surgery
How long are most frequently in the hospital after surgery for breast cancer? It was a small tumor, about 6 mm, once you have an operation, which was long in the hospital for a few days? Any experience?

My wife underwent a mastectomy in the afternoon and after the operation, said he did not feel as good as the estimates for the last two weeks, as after surgery. Often, the unknown is what is imposed on the psyche.
ReplyDeleteIt was on Percocet for pain every four hours the first day. The nurse came to do the drainage. After the second time I asked if I could. After I made the drainage, the nurse told me I had a really good job, I could not follow and the drains of the other patients! I said "no thanks, it's enough!"
He turned around before bedtime. She woke up and I'll be back. She had breakfast from 2.00 clock and received his discharge from the hospital.
At home I use the drain. Percocet Advil twice and then turned on. An Advil every 4 hours for the next two days. His flight was about every 2 hours. It would be more liquid if it executes.
The flight lasted a week. After I see the surgeon about every 4 days for about two weeks.
Overall, the experience isFor mastectomy was one of fear of the unknown. Our surgeons specialize in breast surgery, so we had great confidence in his abilities. The operation could not hurt, and it was off of prescription drugs after a stressful day at home.
Drainage is complex, it is a technique to do so. I would ask the nurse to show you how you can do.
It was a month and a half after his surgery. He started chemotherapy again and is good with Taxol.
Good luck, be nice.

I had a bilateral mastectomy this year. I've had in the morning and before noon the next day. That's pretty standard in my area, but we have good support services, if a nurse had stopped to visit my home dressing change and the stitches to remove, etc.
ReplyDeleteI had my operation in the treatment room days in the hospital I was released in two days, I had done a lumpectomy could be a few days for a mastectomy. It depends on the surgeon, if he believes it enough to leave. xxxxx
ReplyDeleteDays? As if. I had a lumpectomy and axillary lymph node dissection at 10 hours and was back home in time for a late lunch.
