How many samples of hydrogen does a sample of sorbose containing 91g of carbon have? - sample of letterof inquiry

This problem has been completed, there should be better understood.

Sorbose, C6H12O6, is used in the production of vitamin C. A sample contains 91g of carbon sorbose __g also contains hydrogen. The answer given to us by the teacher is given 16 grams of H. Can anyone explain why this is not the answer, and do not understand 12g, Thank you in advance!

1 comment:

  1. Moles C = 91/12.011 g / mol = 7.58

    Mol H = 7.58 x 12 / 6 = 15.2
    M = mass of 15.2 x 1.008 g / mol = 15.3 g
