It has long been a standard double room, but not as extreme as this, not as a general rule.
ReplyDeleteIt is true that the young may be taken by force, and become pregnant when they should not be, or was not to be ready. Girls are weaker than boys and children are seen as a potentially strong views.

This double standard is as old as time. A girl should remain until she married a mere man, but he needs experience before marriage.
